One fact that I like is that maui pulled up the North Island with his magical fish hook he made out of the jawbone his grandmother gave him.
Another fact that I like is a continent called Gondwana broke apart that a big piece of it formed itself into New Zealand.
Lastly the maori name for New Zealand is called Aotearoa.
